The endpoint security market continues to expand with vendors old and new marketing their solutions as “next generation” game-changers. However, closer inspection reveals that many new solutions have been built on old platforms, many of which still rely heavily on signature-based detection and obsolete architecture. Navigating this crowded vendor landscape can be challenging — how does the buyer find the true next-generation protection today’s targeted, advanced threats demand? A new white paper, “The Five Essential Elements of Next -Generation Endpoint Protection,” offers guidance on how to see through the hype and understand the critical must-have elements that meet true next-generation criteria and set a new standard in EPP. Download the white paper to learn: Details on the five essential capabilities that define true next-generation EPP and why they are so important A matrix that evaluates and compares the potential impact of different solutions A list of top questions to ask ve

As the threat landscape evolves, so must our security controls and countermeasures. Recent research from F5 Labs revealed that applications are the initial targets in the majority of breaches, suggesting that any app can be an attack vector. Cybercriminals are moving their tactics further up the stack using sophisticated application-layer exploits, as well as an emerging wave of automated, bot, and IoTbased threats that are quite capable of evading simple signature or reputation-based detection. Yet, the majority of WAFs on the market today have remained largely unchanged, leaving the applayer exposed, unable to proactively monitor and protect against evolving attack vectors.

Whether they work for an up-and-coming startup or an industry giant, security response teams are under siege as never before. Today's cyber attacks are sophisticated, relentless, and devastating, costing U.S. businesses $8.9 million a year each on average. Attacking in multiple stages across multiple vectors, advanced persistent threats (APTs) and other sophisticated attacks easily evade signature-based detection and other traditional defenses. Thiswhite paper describes: The 10 most common mistakes, strategic and technical, that incident response teams make; The effect of these mistakes and how to avoid them with a well-defined incident response plan.

Spyware is on the rise and has been the cause of many data breaches. Stopping it needs to be a strategic part of an organization's overall security plan. Reactive signature-based anti-virus and firewall technology is not a complete solution to prevention. Read this white paper to learn the top five behaviors associated with data theft and how advanced behavioral detection solutions is an effective technology for stopping spyware and can identify and prevent legitimate applications from being misused.

This FAQ tells you how to move beyond the old trade-off between anti-malware effectiveness and speed. It answers questions such as what is wrong with conventional approaches, which includes the inability of clients to perform signature matching operations on today’s more than 70 million malware variants. It also discusses how the cloud and behavioral detection overcome the limitations of signature-based approaches. Finally, it answers questions about how cloud solutions can offer specific benefits such as: • Improving speed by offloading pattern matching from endpoints • Eliminating large signature downloads • Stopping zero day attacks

Prevention is your first line of defense. Make sure your Next-Gen Endpoint Security includes: Global Threat Intelligence – a team of threat hunters detecting the newest threats and uncovering zero-days to keep you protected 24/7 Signature-based AV Detection – let your Next-Gen Endpoint Security solution do all the AV heavy lifting and consolidate protection onto one agent Built-in Sandboxing – get static and dynamic analysis of suspicious threats, without having to deploy a third-party sandbox Proactive Protection – identify and patch vulnerabilities, and analyze and stop suspicious low-prevalence executables before they become real problems
